Our Journey Begins.....

Saturday July 9^th 2011:  We will depart together from Newark Airport in New Jersey.  If you are traveling from out of state we will make flight arrangements for you to join us on the journey.

Sunday July 10^th:  We will arrive in Cusco, ancient capital of the Inkan Empire.  We will be met at the airport to transfer to our hotel in Cusco.  We will take the remainder of this day to become acclimated to the 11,000 ft. altitude of Cusco.  We will rest and have a bit of time on our own to explore this amazing city.  Overnight in Cusco.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner on our own.

Monday July 11^th:   

After breakfast in the morning we gather together to set our intent for this journey beginning our work in Peru.  Our program with Magical Journeys officially begins at 11am.  We will meet our guide downstairs in the hotel lobby. Magical Journey will take us out to a welcome lunch.  We will have an opportunity to shop in Cusco and visit an authentic Shaman's Market.  Then on a late afternoon walk through the cobblestone streets of Cusco where our guide will point out fascinating Inkan stonework we arrive at the Korikancha Temple, the holiest site during Inkan times.  We will explore the wonders of this extraordinary site and the culture of the Inka, bringing our offerings of love and gratitude.  We will have an early night to rest.  Overnight in Cusco. Tuesday July 12^th:    

After a buffet breakfast in the hotel, an early bus takes us to the Inkan ritual fountain at Tampumachay, the perfect starting place for our program on Andean cosmology. "Where there is water, there is life." To the Andean people water is sacred.  We will participate in a water ceremony to begin to cleanse that which no longer serves.  A brief coca-leaf ceremony helps us to tap into the energies of Pachamama (Mother Earth). We continue onward with a visit to the sacred sites at Saksaywaman overlooking the city of Cusco where you will see impressive stonework and structures weighing hundreds of tons.  We will work as we are guided to at the site before returning to Cusco for lunch on our own and a little time to explore.  Our group then departs from the hotel to travel to the Sacred Valley and Willka T'ika Garden Guest House, our base over the next week.  On our way we will visit the Sacred site of Moray,  its graduated circles taking us deep within ourselves, allowing us to prepare for the journey we are about to take. 

Once at Willka T'ika we will have an orientation, followed by a welcome dinner and introduction to the friendly Quechua staff who will take care of our needs during our stay.  Overnight at Willka T'ika. (B.D)  

Wednesday July 13^th: 

We begin our day with a gentle meditation session to bring ourselves into full alignement and openness to Peru's guidance.   This is a special day of authentic Andean ceremony.  We will have a group tour of the seven chakra gardens at Willka T'ika. Incorporating Andean symbols, these magnificent flower and herbal gardens bring wholeness to our being and have been built with love and guidance from nature. Group attunement and journey work in the gardens connect us with Pachamama and further enhances our knowing of the energies of the Sacred Valley.

In preparation for our ceremony in the evening each of us will have the opportunity to receive a private Cocoa Leaf reading and bring the guidance received into our ceremonial work later that day (a donation of $10 is suggested for each reading.  Act as your heart tells you).

After an early dinner, we will join an authentic pakko - a ritual specialist - to participate in a special Andean offering ceremony to Pachamama. Conducted for the well being of our group and practiced by Andean Quechua for thousands of years, this authentic despacho healing ceremony brings us into the spirit-filled world of the Inka. The despacho ends with a fire ceremony, preparing our mind, body and spirit for our pilgrimage to Machu Picchu. 

After ceremony we will complete our day under the stars with a solar bath filled with aromatic medicinal flowers from the gardens and mineral salts for purification ($30 additional fee is required).  Limit is 5 people for the baths.  We may spread this out over two evenings depending on the size of our group.)  Overnight Willka T'ika.
